  Thursday, September 1st, 2016 - World traveler Stefan Hauser to join CEC

The world traveler Stefan Hauser from Germany and his wife Annette Hauser will be joining the 2016 season of  Cross Egypt Challenge as part of their world tour that started back in 2014.

 

Stefan and Annette are touring the world in their Mercedes G class which will be the only allowed automobile in Cross Egypt Challenge. They have been on the road for 730 days, and Egypt will be the 39th destination in their adventure.


 

 
  Wednesday, June 1st, 2016 - Touratech Travel Event 2016

Cross Egypt Challenge will be present at the Touratech Travel Event between June 10 and 12 at the Touratech headquarter in Niedereschach, Germany.

 

The Touratech Travel Event turns into a gathering place for motorbike fans with over  15,000 visitors from all over the world who find their way to Niedereschach, Germany.

 

 
  Monday, January 18th, 2016 - 2016 registration is open

Happy new year everyone! We hope you have had a wonderful 2015 and are all ready to add some adventure to your 2016. Registration for the new 2016  season of Cross Egypt Challenge is now open.

 

This season will run over the course of 10 days and will cover a 2,700km route that is considered one of the longest routes in the history of the challenge and that will pass  through some of Egypt's best destinations.

  Saturday, January 3rd, 2016 - 2016 route is finalized

The new route for the 2016 season and the fifth season of Cross Egypt Challenge is finalized.

 

The 2016 season of Cross Egypt Challenge includes 9 stages that compromise a total distance of 3,080 km, the longest route to date in the history of the challenge.

 

The challenge will begin from the Mediterranean's largest seaport city, Alexandria then head west to the coastal city of Marsa Matrouh en route to head south then east to explore two of the Egyptian western desert oases: Siwa and Bahariya on the edge of the great sand sea of the north African Sahara . The challenge will then head to Minya on the shore of the River Nile where it will ride the Nile valley south to reach the ancient city of Luxor, the world's largest open air museum city, and  the capital of Ancient Egypt .

 

From Luxor the challenge will head further south to the fascinating city of Aswan the gate of Egypt's water reserve, then head further east to cross the Egyptian eastern desert, one of the most difficult deserts on the surface of the planet due to its rock formations and chain of mountains to reach the shores of the Red Sea and stop at the beautiful diving city of Marsa Alam.

 

From Marsa Alam, the challenge will head back north by the Red Sea Riviera to make one last stop in the upscale resort city of El Gouna before the last stage of the 2016 season of Cross Egypt Challenge takes place between El Ggouna and Cairo  to end the new season under the Great Pyramids of Giza.

 

With a carefully planned route, the 2016 season of Cross Egypt Challenge include the longest route in the history of the challenge and will pass through many of Egypt's finest spots including modern cities, coastal resorts, historical sites, Egyptian Eastern desert and Egypt's Nile Valley.
