At this special holiday season, we are glad to announce the new route for the 2017 season is finalized.
The 2017 season of Cross Egypt Challenge includes 8 stages that compromise a total distance of 2,490 km.
The challenge will begin from the Egypt's second largest city, Alexandria then head east to the Mediterranean's city Port Said, one of Egypt's most busy port cities and the gate to Africa, from there the challenge will head south to explore the coast of the red sea Rivera visiting Ain Sokhna, Hurghada and the amazing diving city of Marsa Alam.
After completing the previoua coastal stages, the challenge will cross the Egyptian eastern desert, one of the most difficult deserts on the surface of the planet due to its rock formations and chain of mountains to reach the Nile valley and the ancient city of Luxor, the world's largest open air museum city, and the capital of Ancient Egypt where the riders will spend an extra day there to rest before completing the last three stages of the challenge.
From Luxor, the riders will head west to explore Kharga Oasis at the edge of the great sand sea of the north African Sahara, then head back to the River Nile valley to make one last stop in Minya before the last stage of the 2016 season of Cross Egypt Challenge takes place between Minya and Cairo to end the new season under the Great Pyramids of Giza.
With a carefully planned route, the 2017 season of Cross Egypt Challenge includes a fine and endurane track that pass through many of Egypt's finest spots including modern cities, coastal resorts, historical sites, Egyptian Eastern desert and Egypt's Nile Valley.
