Saturday, October 31st, 2015 - History is accomplished

The longest leg in the history of Cross Egypt Challenge was the 2014 season final with 430 km that was completed on November 22nd , 2014. The 2015 season final added 20 additional kilometer, making the final leg of the season between El Gouna and Cairo the longest leg in the history of Cross Egypt Challenge.

With 450 km to finish in one day, and with an early start before the sun even rises, the riders managed to complete their journey and reach the greatest site in all of Egypt, the Great Pyramids of Giza, and the finish line of the 5th anniversary season of Cross Egypt Challenge in due time for final celebration of the season to be conducted before sunset

After 2200 km throughout Egypt, 9 days, and numerous number of hours on motorcycles and scooters, the fifth anniversary season of the challenge was over. Mission accomplished.

Friday, October 30th, 2015 - The day before the last

Waking up to the desert and enjoying a Bedouin breakfast at the desert camp was a different yet enjoyable experience to the riders.

After finishing breakfast and setting up, the leg from Marsa Alam to El Gouna was pretty much enjoyable for everyone as the scenes and the views of the shore to the right and the mountains to the left composed a perfect landscape for a motorcycle and a scooter ride.

The riders reached the up scale resort city of el Gouna early in the day where they enjoyed the pool, and wandering around the city, before the final feedback meeting of the season was conducted in the evening and participation certificate were handed to all successful riders who finished all the previous stages.

Thursday, October 29th, 2015 - Crossing the desert

Crossing the Egyptian eastern desert for the second time from Luxor to Marsa Alam and arriving to the "Characters of Egypt" festival to spend the night in a desert camp was the highlight of the 2015 season.

The route taken to Marsa Alam from Luxor through the eastern desert included mountains views, twisted roads, and absolute rocky desert surfaces which created an ultimate experience for all riders to be riding on these roads.

after completing this difficult yet enjoyable leg, the riders have arrived to the Characters of Egypt annual festival that was held this year in lieu with the timing of the 2015 season of the challenge. A great opportunity to the participants to attend one day of the festival, and learn more about the Bedouin culture of the Bedouin tribes of Egypt.

Tednesday, October 28th, 2015 - 5 years went by

Everyone felt so lazy in the second rest day in Luxor and spent the day either by the pool or enjoying the Nile view from the hotel. A big night celebration of the fifth anniversary of Cross Egypt Challenge was planned with the presence of the mayor of Luxor where he handed the city shield to the organizing team in recognition of this special occasion.

Everyone enjoyed the folkloric music and performances before they head back to bed to get rested before they once again resume the tough challenge after two days of rest in one of the greatest cities of Egypt.

Tuesday, October 27th, 2015 - A ride in the sky

The riders stayed in Luxor for two days for rest and in celebration for the fifth anniversary season of Cross Egypt Challenge. On the very early morning on day 5 and even before the sun rises, almost all riders head to take a hot air balloon ride over Luxor and enjoy the city landscape from close space. It was a marvelous experience, and everyone enjoyed it and kept sharing their photo in air in social media platforms.

Later that afternoon, many riders continues their sightseeing activities to visit Luxor's west bank, while others spend a lazy afternoon around the pool in the hotel overlooking the Nile.

Monday, October 26th, 2015 - Closed roads!!!

With heavy rain for most of the previous day, and news about floods coming from the top of the Red sea mountain range, there was almost certain news that roads leading out of Hurghada and into Luxor will be definitely closed on this day. However ever rain stopped for most of the night, and by Monday morning, the roads leading to Luxor were all in good condition.

The riders took to the road as early as possible before further rain take place, and while crossing the Eastern desert was one difficult task, everyone enjoyed the scenery and the change of road nature.

It was a great leg, and by the time they arrived to Luxor, the capital of ancient Egypt and the largest open air museum in the world and also their destination for the next two days, it was time for some temple visits, and sigh seeing.

Sunday, October 25th, 2015 - Enjoying the shoreline

The riders started the day with the usual daily morning brief, then rode down the coast of the Red Sea or what is called the Red Sea Riviera from Ain Sokhna to Hurghada. This leg was 280 km but a good part of the road was twisty with mountains on one side and the Red Sea cliffs on the other side.

There was also heavy road construction on the road and mixed with rain from the previous days, this part was extremely difficult for the riders to go through and almost in the last 70 kilometers, it started to rain heavy but this didn't stop the riders from completing this leg under the heavy rain.

By the time they arrived to the hotel, all wet, everyone rushed into the Red Sea for a proper swim under the rain for the rest of the afternoon.

Saturday, October 24th, 2015 - Outta Cairo and to the Red Sea

On the second day and with an early start, the riders rode across the capital Cairo from one side to another to get to Cairo-Suez road en route to their destination for the second day, Ain Sokhna.

The roads were smooth at the beginning but got rough after they left Cairo due to road maintenance between Cairo, Suez and Ain Sokhna.

Amid way around noon time, the riders enjoyed their first lunch meal prepared by CEC "Desert Chefs", Cross Egypt Challenge’s very own culinary team who for the next few days will prepare lunches for the riders and the crew in the middle of no where. A variety of meals are planned so the team enjoys different tastes and culture on the go.

In the early afternoon, the riders made it safe to Ain Sokhna, and enjoyed the beach before the sun sets down, and later that night they had their first get together for an ice breaking and networking meeting where they enjoyed getting introduced to each other after two days of riding together.
